Resident. Widespread and rather common throughout
the British Isles as far north as Wester Ross.

Recorded from scattered sites across the county.

Confusion species
Many species of Phyllonorycter are extremely similar, great care should
be given when separating these species. It is often impossible to
separate the adults of some species.

Wherever the foodplant is found.
Foodplant
Blackthorn and wild plum.
Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a gallery
between the veins 5-10mm long. Pupates in a white silk lined chamber
